White Mountain Voices Choral Scholar Program

The White Mountain Voices Choral Scholar program is open to students in grades 9-12 from the North Country commmunity, including  home-schooled students, private school students, and those attending Lisbon SAU 35, Littleton SAU 84, Northumberland SAU 84, Profile SAU 35, and White Mountains Regional SAU 36. This program is ideal for any student who is considering further study in music education or performance.

Choral scholars will have the opportunity to participate in a community chorus while advancing their skill in choral performance including following the conductor, using good choral diction, executing complex rhythms, matching pitches, sight reading, and singing in a variety of languages. Depending on programming, there may be opportunities for small group or solo performance and/or developing basic choral conducting skills. Each Choral Scholar will also receive 4 private lessons with our Artistic Director, Victoria Cole.

Fall 2024 Choral Scholar Elizabeth Lopes

"Singing is a part of me and I love doing it!" says Elizabeth Lopes, a senior at St. Johnsbury Academy, who is a soprano choral scholar with WMV. Elizabeth has been singing in choirs since sixth grade and continues to love musical theater and singing and performing songs from musicals. She has also played trumpet in the band in the past. She says, "Music makes my life better because it has helped me find my voice and made me much more confident. "
